FAQs

How does My Home Doctor differ from a regular doctor office visit, Urgent Care Center, or an Emergency Department?
Instead of having to chase healthcare, we bring excellent quality healthcare to you and on your schedule. You are seen in the comfort of your home and at a convenient time for you - you never have to wait again in over-crowded waiting rooms. My Home Doctor physicians can treat the same illnesses that you would normally go to see in a primary care physician's office. You are always seen by a board-certified, first class physician. Our fees are affordable and often less expensive than one would pay at an Urgent Care Center or an Emergency Department.

My Home Doctor visits are insurance friendly because they help avoid the more expensive settings for healthcare such as Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centers. In many cases, your insurance company will reimburse between 50% and 80% of our charges, making the actual out-of-pocket costs similar to or less than that of the average Emergency Room visit co-pay. Most My Home Doctor visits cost only $300. As with any visit to a traditional medical facility, additional charges will apply for more comprehensive treatment options. Depending on your insurance plan, you may actually be able to save money by utilizing our services.

Do you accept health insurance?
Although most insurance companies will reimburse a portion of the visit or apply the amount to your deductible if it has not been met, at this time we do not accept insurance in the traditional sense. We will provide you with the documentation that can be submitted to your health insurance company for reimbursement. Many My Home Doctor patients have been receiving partial reimbursement from their private health insurance companies - averaging as high as 80% - which means that the true cost to the patient for a visit could be as low as $60 after receiving reimbursement. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or local personal checks.

The following health insurances companies have reimbursed many of our patients a portion of their My Home Doctor visit through the "out of network" option of either PPO or HMO plans: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, Oxford Health Plan, and United Health Care. Please be aware that My Home Doctor does not guarantee any reimbursement and that many types of health insurance products exist within each of these companies.
